Terms of Use

Last updated May 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to Tab.team. These Terms describe the rights and responsibilities of both you and Artistic Ventures Limited ("we" or "us") with respect to your use of Tab.team. When we refer to "Tab.team" in these Terms, we mean our website, progressive web application, and any goods or services we offer through them. You also agree to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal information.

These Terms are a legal agreement between you and Artistic Ventures Limited, and not with any third-party platform provider, except where a platform's rules must apply when you obtain or pay for Tab.team through that platform. Artistic Ventures Limited is solely responsible for Tab.team and its content, subject to any mandatory terms of a storefront or payment provider you use.

Before using Tab.team, please read and understand these Terms. By registering for an account ("Account"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. As a user of Tab.team, you are a "User." If you access Tab.team without registering, you are still bound by these Terms each time you use the service. These Terms may be updated from time to time in accordance with the "Changes to these Terms" section below.

2. Licence and use of Tab.team

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use Tab.team on devices that you own or control, for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.

You must not transfer, distribute, sublicense, or commercially exploit Tab.team or its software except as expressly permitted. Your use must comply with applicable laws and with any rules of platforms or networks through which you access Tab.team.

3. Creating an account and payment method

When you register for an Account, you must provide accurate and up-to-date information. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Account and associated credentials.

When you order a product or service through Tab.team, you may need to provide a payment method and other details so we can process your order. If you store a payment method, it may be used for future purchases in line with your settings and applicable law. We may suspend or terminate your Account if payment fails, appears invalid, or may belong to someone else without authorisation.

You may only create one Account unless we agree otherwise, and you must not share your Account with others. Keep your email address current for important notices. We may terminate your Account without notice if you provide an invalid email or one that belongs to another person.

You should not register for an Account if you are under 13 years old.

4. Tab.team features and your content

Tab.team helps you upload receipt or bill images, extract line items (for example via automated processing), organise split sessions with others, and related features we may add or change over time ("Services"). Specifications and limits may change; see our help materials when available.

Tab.team is not a permanent archive for your receipts or financial records. You should keep your own copies of anything important. We do not guarantee that uploaded content or session data will always remain available, complete, or uncorrupted.

We may apply processing to images or data you submit (for example compression, format conversion, or quality adjustments) where needed to operate the Services. Some detail loss may occur.

If an Account is inactive for an extended period, we may delete or restrict access to associated content in line with our retention practices described in our Privacy Policy. Where practicable, we will give notice before removing material that remains important to deliver the Services you actively use.

You may share sessions or links with others so they can participate in a split. You are responsible for whom you invite and what they can see. We are not responsible for other people's actions once you share access or content.

5. User content and content rules

"User Content" means any material you upload, post, transmit, or otherwise make available through Tab.team (including receipt images, text, annotations, and session-related information).

You must have the right to submit User Content and to grant us the licence in the Intellectual property section. You must not submit User Content that:

  • Infringes copyright, privacy, data protection, or other rights, or breaches duties of confidentiality;
  • Contravenes applicable law or regulation;
  • Is false, misleading, offensive, abusive, threatening, defamatory, or likely to harass, alarm, or distress anyone;
  • Contains malware or anything designed to disrupt systems or access data without authority;
  • Misrepresents identity or impersonates any person;
  • Includes personal data about others without a lawful basis and, where required, their consent;
  • Is pornographic, indecent, or unlawfully discriminatory, or incites hatred or violence;
  • Could be mistaken for official communications from us when it is not;
  • Advocates or assists unlawful acts;
  • Interferes with the proper working of Tab.team or breaches fair-use expectations.

We do not pre-screen all User Content but may remove or restrict content that appears to breach these rules, suspend features, or terminate Accounts. Contact us if you become aware of infringing or harmful content.

6. Terms of purchase for products and services

When you buy a product or service from us, a contract is formed when you complete the checkout or confirmation step we specify, we accept your order, and (where applicable) we take payment using your nominated method. We will send an order confirmation or equivalent notice where required.

We may reject or cancel an order where, for example:

  • The order breaches these Terms;
  • User Content used for the order breaches the Content rules;
  • Technical or quality requirements are not met;
  • The item is unavailable or mispriced; or
  • We cannot obtain payment authorisation.

If we reject an order after taking payment, we will refund that payment in line with applicable law and our processes.

Delivery times for physical goods (if offered) are estimates. Statutory rights apply to faulty goods and certain digital content under UK law. Nothing in these Terms limits those rights.

Where the law gives you a cooling-off right for distance contracts, it may not apply to personalised or digital items made to your specification once supply has begun with your agreement. Any voluntary change window we offer will be stated at checkout or in order communications.

8. Customer support

We aim to provide helpful support for Tab.team. Contact us through the channels we publish on the site or app. Where Tab.team is distributed through a third-party store, that party has no obligation to provide support for Tab.team; contact us directly for service issues.

9. International use

You are responsible for ensuring your use of Tab.team complies with laws that apply to you, including laws relating to receipts, payments, taxes, and sharing personal data about other people. Some jurisdictions may restrict certain features.

10. Closure of accounts

You may close your Account using the steps we provide, subject to verification where needed. We may close inactive Accounts after a long period of non-use, in line with our Privacy Policy and operational needs.

If your Account is terminated for breach, you may be prohibited from opening another. On closure we may delete User Content, but obligations that survive termination (for example payment of amounts due) continue to apply.

11. Intellectual property

By submitting User Content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, process, adapt, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate, improve, and promote Tab.team and to comply with law. This includes technical steps such as format conversion or creating previews.

Except for your User Content, Tab.team and its materials are owned by or licensed to us. You may use them only as needed to use the Services under these Terms. You must not remove legal notices, scrape the service without permission, or use Tab.team for unauthorised commercial purposes.

We will not sell merchandise bearing your User Content without your consent, but we may use anonymised or aggregated insights and, where permitted, show non-confidential examples to promote the Services.

The licence in this section survives termination of these Terms or your Account where reasonably needed to exercise rights that arose during the term (for example backups or legal holds).

12. Intellectual property claims (software and services)

If a third party claims that Tab.team or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, we are responsible for investigating and addressing that claim as between you and us, to the extent required by applicable law and any applicable platform rules. Third-party storefronts are not responsible for Tab.team's content in place of us.

13. Privacy

By using Tab.team, you agree to our Privacy Policy. You must not use the Services to send unsolicited marketing or to harvest information about users without a lawful basis and consent where required.

14. Our role

We are not responsible for the accuracy of information on receipts, the tax or legal consequences of a split, or disputes between you and other Users. Tab.team may link to third-party sites or services; we do not endorse them and are not responsible for their content or policies.

15. Suspension

We may suspend or terminate access to Tab.team, remove User Content, or take technical or legal steps if we believe you have breached these Terms, to comply with law or competent authority, or to protect the service or others. We may warn other Users where appropriate. We are not liable for losses arising from such actions to the extent permitted by law.

16. Contact and assistance

If a third party contacts us about your User Content or a transaction involving you, you agree to cooperate promptly and provide reasonable information so we can respond.

17. Additional services

We or our partners may offer new or additional features. Those features may be governed by these Terms plus any additional terms we present. Material additional terms will be brought to your attention in a reasonable way; serious breach of additional terms may be treated as a breach of these Terms.

18. Operation of Tab.team

We may change, suspend, or withdraw features for legal, security, or commercial reasons. The Services may be unavailable due to maintenance or events outside our control. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

We may require you to update credentials for security. We will never ask you for your password in an unsolicited message; protect your password and devices.

19. Warranty

Except where the law requires otherwise, Tab.team is provided "as is" without warranties beyond those stated in these Terms. Some jurisdictions give consumers mandatory rights; nothing here excludes those. If you obtained Tab.team through an app store, that store may offer a refund path for the application purchase as described in its policies; that does not limit any separate statutory rights you have against us for faulty digital content or services we supply directly.

20. Liability

We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or breach of statutory rights relating to goods or digital content we supply.

Subject to the above, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of data, business interruption, or loss of profit, except where such losses are a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms. We are not liable for User Content or for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control or by your misuse of the Services.

Tab.team is intended for consumer and small-group use. If you use it for commercial resale or high-risk activities, our liability may be limited further where the law allows.

21. Digital service claims

We are responsible for addressing claims you or third parties may raise about Tab.team as software or an online service (including defects, regulatory compliance, and consumer or privacy issues connected to the application itself), in line with applicable law. This section is about the digital service; physical goods, if any, are additionally covered by applicable sale-of-goods law and Section 6.

22. User representations and legal compliance

You represent and warrant that:

  • You are not in a country subject to UK or US trade embargoes (as applicable) or designated as supporting terrorism, and you are not on a prohibited or restricted party list where that restriction would bar use of the Services; and
  • You will comply with all laws and regulations applicable to your use of Tab.team.
23. Your liability

You are responsible to us and to other Users for activity under your Account and for User Content associated with you. You must comply with third-party terms (for example mobile network or app store rules) that apply to how you access Tab.team; we are not liable for your breach of third-party agreements.

24. Assignment

We may assign these Terms or subcontract our obligations without reducing your statutory rights. You may not assign your rights or obligations without our written consent.

25. Entire agreement

These Terms (together with policies referenced in them) are the entire agreement between you and us regarding Tab.team and supersede prior understandings on the same subject.

26. Changes to these Terms

We may modify these Terms. We will post the updated version on this page (and may use other reasonable notice methods, such as email or in-product messages, for material changes). Continued use after the effective date may constitute acceptance where permitted by law.

27. General

If any part of these Terms is invalid, the remainder remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. Headings are for convenience only.

Where you obtain Tab.team through a third-party platform, that party may be a beneficiary of certain provisions only to the extent its own terms require; nothing in these Terms gives unrelated third parties enforcement rights under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 except as expressly stated.

28. Law

Disputes relating to Tab.team, these Terms, or purchases are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections where you live.

29. Keeping these Terms

We do not store a personalised copy of the Terms you agreed to at a point in time; you should save or print a copy for your records.
